We are looking for experienced senior remote sensing and GIS analysts for our remote sensing team own the development of the core data products that are necessary to create the digital infrastructure.

The ESBAAR has a unique fulltime and long-term opportunity for the right person to join our dedicated team in the muscat city office. As part of the remote sensing team, the Remote sensing and GIS analyst will assist in building remote sensing deliverables and be responsible for administering data management system, including the management, analysis, updating and sharing of spatial information.

ABOUT THE ROLE:
Developing GIS and remote sensing policies and procedures.
Designing and implementing organization-wide spatial standards.
Recommending capital and operation outlays and developing and tracking remote sensing-related resources.
Working closely with the Head of remote sensing and remote sensing analysts to manage the projects.
Obtaining and managing necessary resources.
Supervising, monitoring, and evaluating the remote sensing and GIS work.
Providing technical and project management support.
Providing an interface between remote sensing staff and other professionals working within the organization.
Providing technical expertise, user training and support to users.
Managing GIS committees at technical and management level.
Preparing reports
SKILLS REQUIRED:
Demonstrated advanced experience with GIS and remote sensing software’s to process and analyse large-scale high-resolution data sets.
Proven track record of Python, especially with reference to development of spatial analysis tools and exposer to utilization of GDAL in AWS environment.
10 plus years of experience with using GIS and remote sensing for oil and gas industry.
Proven ability to manage large volumes of complex data layers across many projects.
High resolution remote sensing data processing focus on: Lidar and Photogrammetry
Oil and Gas sector infrastructure management experience and knowledge is highly regarded.
KEY SELECTION CRITERIA:
Tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline area, such as GIS and remote sensing, infrastructure management or an associated field with advanced skills in GIS and remote sensing-based data analysis. qualification in management will be added advantage.
Experience working with ultra-high resolution remote sensing and Lidar data. Ability to manage large amounts of data and use sophisticated analysis (e.g., image processing and programming) to support data exploration and analysis.
Demonstrated experience in spatial modelling or spatiotemporal data analysis using Python and GDAL
The ability to work effectively as part of a multi-disciplinary, regionally dispersed research team, plus the motivation and discipline to carry out autonomous work.
Demonstrated experience in photogrammetric processing and 3D structural information extraction.
Skills and proven experience in geospatial analysis, data production, and data management.
