Summary


You will serve as a PURCHASING AGENT in the NAVSUP Fleet Logistics Center, Contracting Department of NAVSUP FLC BAH GF. The current workweek is Sunday through Thursday. Employees hired from continental U.S. will receive Sunday Premium Pay (computed at 25% of basic hourly rate, eight hours per week).

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of Specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-06 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:1) Purchasing items /services using purchasing regulations, methods, procedures, and business practices; 2) Analyzing item descriptions and performance work statements to identify incomplete and/or erroneous specifications/work statements; 3) Compiling statistics and preparing reports on purchasing activities; and 4) Obtaining oral and written quotations and issue purchase orders according to Federal and local purchasing regulations, policies, procedures, and business practices. Employees hired from continental U.S. will receive Sunday Premium Pay (computed at 25% of basic hourly rate, eight hours per week). This position is subject to work an uncommon tour, including nights, weekends, and holidays to meet mission requirements. Overtime or night differential pay and/or unusual duty hours may be required. Because the incumbent obligates government funds, he or she must file an Office of Government Ethics (OGE) Form 450, Statement of Financial disclosure upon initial appointment and annually thereafter. This is a Defense Aquisition Workforce position that requires a Contracting, Foundational acquisition certification. The incumbent has 36 months to earn this certification. Incumbent must obtain and maintain certification in accordance with DoD Instruction 5000.66. Aquisition Workforce (AWF) members must complete 80 hours of Continuous Learning Points (CLPs) every two year, in accordance DoDI 5000.66. Workforce members are encouraged to earn their CLPs by completing Defense Acquisition University (DAU) Credentials. Obtaining certification and maintaining CLPs before and after achieving certification are conditions of employment. Failure to meet these requirements could result in disciplinary action and/or removal from employment. Physical Demands: Incumbent may be subject to occasional travel of up to 25%. This may require walking, bending and climbing during visits to various Navy and commercial installations. During the course of this travel, industrial facilities may be visited or toured. Work Environment: The employee performs work in an office setting involving everyday risks or discomforts. Normal safety precautions are adequate.
