Role Summary: Cook meats, fish, vegetables, soups and other hot food products as well as prepare and portion food products prior to cooking. Also, performs other duties in the areas of food and final plate preparation including plating and garnishing of cooked items and preparing appropriate garnishes for all hot menu item plates.

Minimum years of experience: 5 years (Kitchen Preparation & Cooking)

Required Skills:

· Able to communicate effectively with managers and kitchen personnel

· Able to reach, bend, stoop and frequently lift up to 40 pounds

· Able to work in a standing position for long periods of time (up to 9 hours)

Job Description:

· Responsible for delicious, wholesome foods for our guests in an efficient and safe manner and to contribute to each guest's meal by preparing a food product that is both enjoyable and satisfying.

· Follows established recipes, plate presentations, portions, and temperatures (hot food hot & cold food cold) to provide guests with consistently excellent products. Ensures all food served meets the standards of quality and freshness. Properly stores and rotates food products. Weigh, measure, and mix ingredients according to recipes using various kitchen utensils and equipment. Follow proper plate presentation and garnish set up for all dishes. Knows and complies consistently with the restaurant’s standard portion sizes, cooking methods, quality standards and kitchen rules, policies and procedures.

· Maintains quality standards of products and procedures while working quickly, efficiently, and productively through the shift. Looks for work to do when time permits.

· Works in a neat, clean, and orderly manner. Practices food safety standards at all times. Assists in the sanitation and organization of all storage areas and work stations.

· Comes to work on time as scheduled. Minimal absenteeism. Attends scheduled meetings.

· Comes to work in a proper, clean uniform. Maintains appropriate grooming and hygiene standards.

· Works carefully and safely, inspects & cleans equipment, maintains the cleanliness of food preparation areas (e.g., equipment and work surfaces, serving areas, etc.) to ensure safe and sanitary food-handling practices.

· Ensure freshness of food and ingredients by checking for quality, keeping track of old and new items, and rotating stock.

· Stocks and maintains sufficient levels of food products at line stations to support a smooth service period.

· Handles, stores, and rotates all food products and supplies according to restaurant policies and procedures.

· Assists in food preparation assignments during off-peak periods as needed.

· Substitute for or assist other cooks during emergencies or rush periods.

· Closes the kitchen following the closing checklist for kitchen stations and assists others in closing the kitchen.
