• Responsibilities' Scope:

o Understand work packaging philosophy, scope of installation, Work Breakdown Structure and scoping of installation work packages.

o Prepare detailed civil & structural Installation Work Packages (IWPs) as per the project guidelines and procedures, which includes, compiling concrete or structural drawings, installation details, model snapshots inspection test records or any other documents or Engineering deliverables associated with the CSA IWPs.

o Review general installation priorities and check to assure the work accomplished meets the project requirements.

o Reviews work scope, checking sequencing, access, resources, equipment needs, pre-work, materials, and support services.

o Prepares the scope of the IWP in coordination with the discipline workface planners, including the final review with the Field Supervisor and Lead Superintendent to gain approval for the IWP.

o Coordinate with other disciplines like Piping, Electrical, Mechanical, identifying the scope and

installation sequence of foundations or structures.

o Prepare work packages and method statement for the installation work.

o Monitor project schedule and ensure performance and timely delivery of IWPs; coordinate with Project Controls team, planners, other stakeholder of the project and ensure IWPs are issued as per the project priorities

o Monitor quality of IWPs ensuring scoping and preparation of IWPs is done right the first time

o Attend progress meetings, maintain effective interface with site management team, client’s

organization ensuring IWPs and advance work packaging efforts are effectively delivered on the

project.

o Facilitates the identification and removal of constraints.

o Responsible for the drawings extracted from 3-D model, which shall be the final products to be issued for construction, detailing and/or fabrication.

o Responsible for modelling of scaffold and formwork.

o Perform 3-D design reviews, resolve conflicts, solve constructability problems and may be required to participate in preparation of or checking of as-built drawings.

o Perform and/or review advanced level structural or reinforcing steel detailing by in-house efforts or by sub-contractors.

o Perform/assist in cost estimates and quantity take-offs for on-going projects, proposals, forecasts and change-orders.


• Essential Duties:


o Review contract documents and identify requirements and scope of work for project execution. Review specifications, drawings and other documents. Establish contract review criteria, identify and Resolve discrepancies and divergences from original proposal through Investigation of technical queries to Projects/Client.

o Conceptualize and verify the most optimum work route. Identify a clear scope of work/supply and accordingly plan/schedule the engineering activities and manpower resource. Identify and quantify total number of engineering deliverables, man hour allocation, format of delivery, time Schedules and other requirements for execution of the work.

o Monitor and control project man hour requirements during project execution, identify variations between contract and proposal. Take corrective action as necessary. Create manpower charts for task assignments, establish target completion dates, ensure target dates are achieved.

o Maintain project schedules and ensure allotted man hours, deadlines and cost requirements are strictly adhered to Recommend cost effective measures to reduce overall costs.

o Supervise the preparation and issue of Inquiry Requisitions to vendors. Participate in technical bid evaluations. Review vendor drawings, documents and design calculations. Ensure vendor equipment specifications meet with client equipment specifications and within budgeted costs.

o Meet vendor representatives, inspect vendor works and workshops and provide assistance to Quality Department as required.

o Conduct internal staff meetings, ensure the progress of project in accordance to schedule, allotted man hours and budgeted costs. Coordinate with Projects and Planning Departments on schedule related issues.

o Participate in safety and design review meetings along with Client and representatives of other

engineering disciplines.

o Ensure compliance with Company’s ISO Quality procedures. Coordinate internal and Client audit requests, facilitate audit procedures of engineering systems within the discipline.

o Customize the system to deliver the model, drawings and data as per the project requirements.

o Interface and provide clarifications, guidance and technical support to Construction and

Commissioning teams as required.

o Conduct employee performance evaluations, establish performance criteria, identify employee

strengths and weaknesses, and recommend training and development requirements. Undertake

responsibility of development of engineers.


• Minimum Qualifications:

A bachelor's degree in Mechanical/civil engineering with a minimum of 7 years of related experience is preferred from a background in working for organizations in the EPC associated with commissioning of metallurgy (those with experience in the steel industry will be given preference), oil, and gas industries.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Gross salary range: OMR 350 - OMR 400 per month (All-Inclusive/Non-Taxable)The ideal candidate is a self-motivated individual who can manage a project with oversight from proposal phase to construction administration.
