Assistant Financial Controller
Job Purpose
The purpose of the job is to perform all day to day accounting activities of the company to ensure all relevant financial information is accurate and up to date
Major Duties and Responsibilities
Conduct timely and accurate booking of payable transactions ensuring all the correct authorizing procedures are followed
Record suppliers’ invoices and verify the completeness of documents and approvals. Match the vendor’s invoice with the purchase order/contract and reconcile vendor balances to prepare monthly payments
Record customer’s invoices / receipts and verify the completeness of documents and ensure regular deposit of amounts received.
Ensure that PDC module, revenue from other sources, cost recovery, sales commission module will be updated and available at all times.
Updating and preparation of Service Charge Module including true up at the end of the year.
Maintain the general ledger integrity, including journal entries, coding invoices, account analysis and reconciliation, closing books periodically, account balancing and review of the profit & loss GL accounts on a monthly basis.
Prepare SBJ’s accounting reconciliations related to journals, ledgers, closings, accounts payable, and cash disbursements.
Conduct timely account reconciliations for various accounts such as company’s vendors and bank accounts, petty cash, and credit cards.
Coordinate and liaise with the external auditor regarding year end verification and validation of the GL accounts.
Maintain and implement adequate systems of internal control to ensure accuracy and adequacy of accounting records and documentation and communicate with the Internal Auditor.
Ensure that GL accounts are reconciled related to Withholding tax and VAT return filing.
Qualifications
Bachelor degree in Accounting or Finance or a related field.
Masters in Accounting or MBA is preferred.
Professional certificates, e.g. CFA, ACCA, CMA, CPA.
Knowledge & Experience
Minimum 5 years of experience in the field.
Strong knowledge in financial modelling.
Solid skill in Excel at Advance level with Certification.
