Bioinformatics Analyst
Position Summary
We are seeking a dynamic BioInformatics Analyst to support our innovative biomarker discovery platform.
The BioInformatics Analyst will work in a fast-paced, team-oriented commercial and technical group providing technical presentations, guidance for ingestion, analysis, and interpretation of data, and materials for deeper understanding of our data workflows. The work requires attention to detail, deep understanding of data, and insightful discernment of client needs. This role will interact cross-functionally within the organization to optimize value customers derive from their data.
Key Job Responsibilities
Support and educate internal and external stakeholders about the data
Walk clients through their data upon delivery, guiding appropriate initial steps and specific best practices
Deliver technology presentations to potential clients for best utilization of the platform
Engage in problem solving with customers and commercial team
Partner with internal BioInformatics, Software, and IT teams to optimize value delivery to customers
Leverages customer feedback to shape best practices and future product development
Develop strong relationships with customers
Qualifications Education:
BS degree in the Computer Science, Statistics, or Mathematics; advanced degree preferred
Advanced coursework or experience in Biochemistry or Molecular Biology desired; ‘Omics experience preferred
Minimum of 2 years data analytics experience; education may compensate for experience
Experience in one or more data analysis languages (e.g. Python, R) required
Successful track record in a client-facing role for a scientific or technology company
Experience training others preferred
Experience using one or more databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL, Neo4j) is preferred
Familiarity with Linux command line is a plus
Familiarity with CRM systems preferred
Skills:
Strong communication skills and the ability to establish and maintain relationships
Demonstrated understanding of the needs of scientific customers, particularly involving ‘omics data analyses
Aptitude and desire for ongoing learning of new technical details related to bioinformatics, statistics, and biochemistry
Results-oriented with a drive to find solutions to problems
Keen ability to discern and adapt to meet needs of varied audiences
Self-motivated, disciplined self-starter with an ability to work independently
Ability to adapt to change and work effectively on various assignments
Good organizational and planning skills, strong attention to detail and accuracy
Strong agility to learn, understand, and communicate complex terminology and to maintain the required technical expertise including competitive product knowledge
Excellent presentation skills
